Job Description

The Department of Psychology at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is seeking a non-tenure track 12-month Teaching Assistant Professor position for the Global Institute for Behavior Analysis (GIBA). This role will teach multiple online courses each year, assist with the continued development and quality of those courses, and provide mentorship and oversight for graduate research projects. The position requires knowledge of inclusive online teaching practices and student advisement. While this position is fully remote, it is highly collaborative in nature. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain regular hours and participate in recurring synchronous meetings with faculty, staff, and students. Regular engagement in virtual committee meetings, program planning, and collaborative initiatives is an essential part of supporting the program and its students.

Program Background

UNR has been offering distance learning since 1995. GIBA, established in 2022, offers an expanded version of the original Satellite Programs in Behavior Analysis program. The Master’s degree program is accredited by the Association for Behavior Analysis International Accreditation Board. Nondegree course sequences are also offered both domestically and internationally.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in Behavior Analysis or related field and at least three (3) years prior experience working in the field as a behavior analyst.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with a BCBA-D and online teaching experience are preferred but not required.

Compensation Grade

Teaching Assistant Professor

This position is budgeted up to a maximum of $100,000.

Grants-in-Aid for Faculty Employees
