Qualifications

• New Jersey DOE Certificate in Teaching of the Handicapped or Students with Disabilities required.
• New Jersey DOE Certificate in Elementary (CE/CEAS or standard) required.
• Experience with autistic individuals, ABA, and discrete trial is preferred.
• Ability to perform physical duties, including frequent bending and lifting up to 25 lbs. independently, and more with assistance.
• Strong capacity to create a motivating and positive learning environment for students.
• Willingness to complete Crisis Management training as required.
• Residency in New Jersey within one year of hire is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized instruction to students with disabilities.
• Design and implement effective lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with other educators and specialists to support student development.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary.
• Maintain a safe and engaging classroom environment that facilitates learning.
