This position is a member of our Air Monitoring Division.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Oversees contracting, purchasing, accounting, travel, and administrative activities for the Air Monitoring Division. Formulates plans and organizes section workload including the development of training plans, standard procedures, and goals.
  • Hires, manages, and appraises the performance of Business & Financial Services Section staff; oversees staff development and activities, including technical and leadership training.
  • Coordinates with internal and external parties, particularly the Financial Administration Division and Budget & Planning Division as well as other sections within the Air Monitoring Division, to ensure program activities are implemented and completed in a timely manner.
  • Contributes to strategic planning process and oversight of operational budget expenditures for the division and development of the division's biennial operating budget plan including coordinating procurements associated with Legislative Appropriations Requests.
  • Represents the division in meetings and training related to contracting, purchasing, accounting, travel, and administrative activities.


KEY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience supervising and/or leading administrative, professional, and/or technical staff, including performing personnel management functions, such as hiring, conducting performance reviews, and/or administering disciplinary actions
  • Experience with state procurement and/or contract laws and regulations and/or apply guidelines to implement purchases and contracts.
  • Experience with project management, including establishing milestones and deadlines and tracking projects to completion.
  • Experience in developing standard operating procedures and training staff.
  • Experience with managing department budgets and ensuring alignment of expenditures.


REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Experience in the management of a business function, division, or department relevant to assignment.

OR

Graduation from an accredited fouryear college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.

Work Schedule

Standard business hours are MF, 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.

Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Air Monitoring Division.
