We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Tax Manager to join the SALT team in our National Tax practice.

CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered hybrid which means team members are expected to be thoughtful and intentional in how they create opportunities for in-person collaboration. While the cadence of in-office presence is determined at the team level, our professionals are encouraged to be in the office/together in person on average 3 days a week.

YOUR TEAM.

This position will support our National Tax Team, which in turn supports the firm's broader tax practice. The right candidate will have a growth mindset and look for ways to expand their knowledge within both the tax space associated with their specialized services and varying industries.

They will also be eager to collaborate on thought leadership, webinars, and seminars while remaining results focused on assisting both internal and external clients in achieving their wide-ranging business goals.

YOUR ROLE.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

As a member of the State & Local Tax team, you will report to and receive instruction from Directors and/or Partners of the Firm. The primary responsibility will be to provide income tax compliance and consulting services involving audit controversy, due diligence, tax projections, research for a diverse client base, and more. This will include broad exposure to our Income Tax Compliance Practice. Additionally, this role will:
  • Enhance your project and task management skills.
  • Allow for personal and professional development (support and mentoring from experienced CPAs in the accounting, auditing, and tax areas of the firm)
  • Give you the opportunity to work collaboratively with the broader CohnReznick team in delivering the highest quality service to our clients
  • Allow for the ability to interact directly with our clients on a regular basis to better understand and serve their needs
  • Provide the opportunity to participate in industry, alumni, and community networking events.


YOUR EXPERIENCE.

The successful candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's in Tax is a plus.
  • CPA, CMA, CMI, JD, or EA is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years income tax compliance experience; primarily involving income/franchise tax return preparation and review with an emphasis on state income tax.
  • Prior involvement and working knowledge of multi-state complex C corporation return preparation and review preferred
  • Proficiency in income tax compliance software, preferably OneSource Income Tax, GoSystems and CCH Axcess.
  • Solid experience in researching and addressing multi-state income tax matters.
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
  • Strong leadership, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Proven competence with MS Office, including advanced Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of tax research software, including CCH and RIA Checkpoint
  • Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Travel required - approximately 10%
