Description:Join our Finance/Tax resource group in Pittsburgh, PA, as a Senior Manager, US Tax in the Aerospace/Aviation/Defense industry. This role involves overseeing US tax compliance, coordinating domestic tax matters, and enhancing processes. Responsibilities include tax accounting, special assignments, and supporting internal controls compliance.
Responsibilities:- Manage US income tax returns and domestic filings
- Compile tax and financial data for decision-making and strategic tax initiatives
- Provide analyses and recommendations to Senior leadership on US tax matters
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance for estimates, extensions, and forecasts
- Monitor tax law developments, design strategic tax initiatives, and update processes accordingly
- Support IRS and external audits, including preparing audit responses and maintaining documentation
- Assist with international aspects of US tax compliance
- Engage in domestic tax credit opportunities and analyze internal restructurings and M&A activities
- Manage gain/loss calculations and basis studies
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business
- Minimum 10 years of corporate income tax experience
- Legal authorization to work in the United States; Visa sponsorship not available
- Preferred: CPA, Masters in Taxation, or J.D.
- Prior experience managing a tax team
- Willingness to self-educate
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Corptax products
- Familiarity with ERP software, ideally Oracle and Smartview
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a big-picture understanding
- Team player with self-confidence, motivation, and ability to work independently
