Full Job Description
Job Responsibilities

  • Perform technical review of engagement work papers, tax returns primarily for partnerships, individuals, S and C-Corporations

  • Provide consultation on business and/or personal transactions (if applicable), and the related tax implications, consequences and treatment

  • Review or conduct high level research of complex or emerging tax issues and prepare memorandums to support conclusions, including state tax issues and international tax issues

  • Effectively lead large and complex engagements for multiple clients

  • Train and develop less experienced individuals responsible for engagement management responsibilities, including managing budgets, scheduling and staffing, due date management and client relations

  • Understand and manage engagement economics

  • Continually build on technical expertise in taxation by attending continuing professional education courses or utilizing other training resources

  • Keep current with tax law changes and provide updates and training to the firms tax practice members, write articles for firm publications on emerging tax topics including legislative changes and planning opportunities

  • Developing responses to IRS and other regulatory and tax authorities audits, notices and inquiries

  • Knowledgeable about the services and capabilities of the firm and other partners, and seeks to identify other services that will benefit the client

  • Assist with new business development and expansion of services to existing clients

  • Develop internal and external network with an eye toward continuing to grow practice in a sustainable way

  • Build and solidify relationships with members of other business units within Armanino who serve similar clients

  • Approach job in an executive way, taking ownership of responsibilities in a way that will position you for further advancement

  • Provide meaningful leverage to partner group in serving clients effectively and in some combination of operational, leadership, administrative, and business development roles

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting

  • CPA license

  • 7 years or more of experience in public accounting in taxation or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 3 years in a managerial role involving clients and team members

  • Strong project management and leadership skills including the ability to successfully coach and mentor talented people

  • Technical proficiency in tax software applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters in Taxation preferred

Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. The compensation range for this position: $171,200 - $259,600. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location. Eligible employees at certain levels can participate in a discretionary long-term financial incentive plan, subject to plan participation rules.
