Job DescriptionPosition OverviewBertelsmann is seeking a talented Tax Analyst to join the tax team at its U.S. headquarters. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a tax career within a fast-growing global organization. The Tax Analyst will collaborate closely with tax department colleagues and business unit management.
Role and Responsibilities- Preparation, analyses, and timely filing of federal and state returns (corporate and/or partnership), on a standalone and/or consolidated basis, as well as any supporting schedules
- Preparation of various international forms including but not limited to Forms 1118, 5471, 5472, 8858, and 8865
- Preparation of quarterly tax provisions for assigned business units and submission of related reporting packages to management
- Collect pertinent data, prepare, review and maintain proper tax workpapers and pertinent records in support of aforementioned responsibilities
- Prepare and file ad-hoc tax filings
- Responsible for timely and organized remittance of tax payments
- Maintain ongoing service to management of various business units in the areas of compliance, reporting, inquiries, audits, and other related tax matters
- Assist with state inquiries or state audits as required
- Stay current with relevant tax matters and changes
- Willingness to travel when necessary
- This role is expected to work in the office at least two days per week (subject to change based on business needs).
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
Qualifications- Have a degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
- Have a minimum of 1 to 2 years' experience in either industry or public accounting
- Tax experience should include positions working in a U.S. tax environment, as well as multi-state income and franchise tax
- CPA and media business experience are not required but are a plus
- Public accounting experience; preferred
- CorpTax Compliance experience; preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage workflow involving deliverables from others
- Ability to cooperate in a team setting
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines
- Ability and willingness to research tax matters and apply it to use
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attitude of accountability
- Willingness to travel as necessary
Additional InformationThe Salary for this position is $80,000 - $90,000. (USD). This position is bonus eligible.
