DescriptionSUMMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB:The Sr. Tax Accountant is responsible for taking the lead role in supporting the Company's indirect tax functions, preparing the financial information in support of accounting and corporate income tax reporting requirements, including federal, state and local filings. Able to be comfortable working in a high-growth environment and communicate effectively with all levels of management. This position is a key contributor to the financial accounting team and must work closely with the Tax Director.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Prepare corporate federal, state, and local income tax returns.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales/use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions. Research and resolve sales and use tax issues.
- Manage sales tax exemption certificates and maintain supporting documentation.
- Prepare monthly VAT/GST tax returns for foreign jurisdictions.
- Assist with quarterly tax provision preparation for financial statements.
- Remit quarterly income tax estimates and payments to various tax agencies.
- Prepares documentation for local, state, and federal level returns for submission within specified deadlines.
- Assist with preparation for and responses to tax examinations, and internal and independent audits.
- Prepare personal property tax returns.
- Keep updated on local, state, and federal statutory and regulatory changes, and analyze and implement to ensure compliance.
- Assist with annual financial statement audit.
- Communicate with various members of the organization to improve and maintain internal control of tax functions.
- Work with Corporate Tax Director on various tax projects.
- Perform other duties as related to the job function as required
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES:- B.S. in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 4-year tax experience
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and reporting requirements at all levels of the taxing authorities
- Microsoft Office (strong Excel), OneSource tax software
- Corporate Income and Sales tax compliance experience
- Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High energy level and attention to detail
- Takes ownership of responsibilities and functions independently
- Leadership skills to coordinate with various personnel
- Problem-solving skills from issue identification to final resolution
SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:No Supervisory qualifications are required for this position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:A normal amount of sitting and standing, average mobility to move around an office, and ability to conduct a normal amount of work on a computer.
SALARYAt NMB, the pay band for this role is between $93,184.00 and $139,776.00 annually, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The base pay is a part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range of the pay band process.
