Job Description:

Summary
  • Prepare federal, state and local, and foreign corporate income tax returns, supporting workpapers, and related US tax forms for a multi-state, multinational corporation.
  • Calculate tax provisions, provision projections, and tax payment calculations in support of financial reporting, forecasting, and the annual budget process.
  • Maintain and advance income tax technology, leveraging business intelligence and automation tools - including Alteryx and Power BI - to improve department efficiency and analytical capability.
  • Prepare periodic reconciliations of tax general ledger accounts and maintain the corporate tax compliance calendar.
  • Respond to tax notices and collaborate with external tax advisors and service providers as needed.
  • Assist with ongoing documentation, review, and maintenance of tax policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects and special tax initiatives as assigned; occasional travel may be required.


Required Qualifications
  • 3-7 years of corporate tax experience within a publicly traded multi-state, multinational corporation or a national public accounting firm.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing federal and state and local corporate income tax returns in a multi-state environment.
  • Experience with corporate tax compliance software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and ability to apply tax accounting principles in a corporate financial reporting context.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex tax information clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Taxation (MST or JD/LLM) or actively pursuing one.
  • General international tax experience, including preparation of US tax forms related to foreign entities (e.g., Forms 5471, 8858, 8865).
  • Hands-on experience with business intelligence or automation tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience supporting tax technology initiatives, process improvement, or workflow automation in a corporate tax function.
  • CPA or actively pursuing CPA licensure.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience accepted in lieu of a formal degree.

Pay Transparency Statement:

US Base Salary Range: $86,600.00 - $112,500.00

Base pay offered to new hires may vary based upon factors including relevant industry and job-related skills and experience, geographic location, and business needs.* The range displayed does not encompass the full potential of the role, which allows for further growth and career progression.

In addition, as a part of our total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Vertex Bonus Plan (VOB), a role-specific sales commission/bonus, and/or equity grants.
