About the RoleThis is a first-of-its-kind operations role at a pre-seed AI recruiting startup. You will act as the human layer on top of autonomous AI agents that source, message, qualify, and schedule candidates at scale, stepping in for high-judgment moments and helping shape what AI-native recruiting operations looks like as the company grows.
What You'll Do- Supervise live AI agent pipelines, monitor candidate conversations, flag errors, and intervene when human judgment is needed.
- Handle high-stakes recruiting moments such as senior candidate conversations, objection handling, and offer negotiations.
- Train and improve AI agents by reviewing outputs, labeling good and bad responses, and writing examples that sharpen model quality.
- Audit candidate matches, outreach quality, and conversion rates across thousands of weekly touchpoints.
- Guide candidates through final stages, manage offers, and ensure successful placements.
- Document what works, build SOPs, and define how humans and AI agents collaborate effectively.
What We're Looking For- 2+ years in talent operations, recruitment, or sourcing at early-stage tech startups.
- Extensive hands-on experience with AI tools (large language models or similar) to evaluate quality, spot errors, and understand AI capabilities and limitations.
- Proven ability to design and run end-to-end recruitment processes: sourcing, screening, coordination, offer management, and candidate experience.
- Experience monitoring and quality-assuring high-volume pipelines (hundreds to thousands of weekly touchpoints).
- Track record closing placements and managing final-stage conversations including offer negotiation.
- Comfort using data, dashboards, and conversion metrics to drive recruiting decisions.
- Experience labeling outputs or providing structured feedback to improve AI or ML systems.
- Cross-functional experience working with product, engineering, and leadership in startup environments.
- Familiarity with modern web or data technologies (such as TypeScript, Python, or SQL) is a plus for communicating effectively with engineers.
- Mid-career operator profile; not a senior executive or recruiting leader looking to step back.
