Job Description

The Systems Operations Analyst role focuses on supporting the production workflow, while working as part of a team to help ensure the efficient handling of production job scheduling changes, managing problems and issues, while adhering to established standards and procedures. The successful candidate, under the guidance of senior team members, will contribute to BAU tasks as well as important projects and assignments, helping to represent the department in project or issue-related aspects. 

Responsibilities

Maintenance

  • Assist in maintaining operational documentation, procedures, and standards.
  • Support and maintain on-time delivery of user and client deliverables.
  • Maintain change processes for operational review and approval.
  • Review production turnover documentation to ensure requirements and schedules are met. 
  • Assist in providing info and deliverables for IT Audits

System and Software Support

  • Support automation processes and software
  • Help Support TLMS software and all tape management issues.
  • Understand and Support the use of Splunk.

Technical

  • Provide 24x7 technical support.
  • Help perform monitoring responsibilities for operational alerts.
  • Meet all service level objectives associated with production alerts and failures.
  • Assist in job scheduling for both mainframe and distributed platforms.
  • Conduct 1st level problem determination, resolution, and documentation.
  • Evaluate and test software to support system upgrades or processing adjustments.

Planning/Organization

  • Identify and document incidents and problems (all platforms) presented to the team.
  • Help ensure employees have the necessary tools to perform their work effectively. 
  • Help document team processes and procedures

Education & Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or Business degree with related work experience.
  • 2-5+ years of data processing experience or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with standard desktop tools, including Microsoft Office, Outlook and Teams.
  • Experience and/or working knowledge of batch scheduler tools (AutoSys, RunMyJobs, iZws, CA-7, etc)
  • Familiarity with AutoOps, IBM Content Manager and ServiceNow are a plus
  • Fast learner with very good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-starter/motivated
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail
  • ITIL Foundation Certification (not mandatory but a plus)
  • Experience in using Industry tools like ServiceNow for tracking Incidents and Problems (not mandatory but a plus)

Salary Range

NJ: $80,000 - $95,000 base salary + annual target bonus
