Systems Manufacturing Engineer to join our Systems Manufacturing Group (SMG), supporting the production of complex electro-mechanical assemblies and systems.
This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who thrives on the manufacturing floor-not behind a desk. You'll work closely with technicians, quality, engineering, purchasing, and production leadership to troubleshoot systems, improve manufacturing processes, and help deliver high-quality products efficiently and safely.

What You'll DoAs a Systems Manufacturing Engineer, you'll play a key role in supporting production from new product introduction through final assembly and testing.
Key Responsibilities- Support production builds from release through final assembly and system testing.
- Troubleshoot electrical and electro-mechanical manufacturing issues involving:
- Wiring and cable assemblies
- Sensors and controls
- Solenoids
- Power supplies
- Grounding
- Pneumatic and vacuum systems
- Heaters and thermal controls
- Safety interlocks and E-Stops
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable and harness drawings, mechanical drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and customer specifications.
- Create and improve:
- Work instructions
- Test procedures
- Checklists
- Troubleshooting guides
- As-built documentation
- Support engineering change orders (ECOs/ECNs), BOM revisions, redline updates, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and production issue resolution.
- Assist with new product introduction (NPI), first-build readiness, and production readiness activities.
- Design practical manufacturing improvements including fixtures, tooling, assembly aids, cable routing enhancements, and test setups.
- Drive improvements in safety, quality, repeatability, production flow, and manufacturing efficiency.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications- Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical assembly or systems integration.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience supporting manufacturing floor operations in a high-mix production environment.
- Experience developing or improving manufacturing documentation.
- Working knowledge of:
- 24 VDC control systems
- Relays
- Safety interlocks
- E-Stops
- Power supplies
- Sensors
- Grounding
- Machine safety concepts
- Strong communication skills with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, quality, purchasing, and technicians.
- Organized, collaborative, and solutions-oriented approach with the ability to drive issues through resolution.
Preferred QualificationsExperience in one or more of the following is highly desirable:
- Semiconductor equipment
- Medical device or life sciences manufacturing
- Automation or robotics
- Capital equipment manufacturing
- Contract manufacturing
- Complex electro-mechanical systems
- Electrical panel layout
- Cable harness fabrication
- Point-to-point wiring
- Functional testing and system acceptance testing
- PLC I/O troubleshooting
- Motors, flow switches, heaters, thermal controls, and solenoids
- ERP/MRP systems (Epicor preferred)
- SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Root cause analysis and corrective actions
- New Product Introduction (NPI)
- First-build or production readiness reviews
- DOE or structured problem-solving methodologies
Education & ExperienceWe welcome candidates with a variety of educational and professional backgrounds.
Ideal candidates will have:
- 5-8 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience
We will also consider:
- Engineers with 2-5 years of experience and a relevant engineering degree.
- Professionals with 5-10 years of strong hands-on manufacturing or technical experience.
