Overview

Stellar Solutions is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to support the development, integration, and deployment of next-generation Environmental Monitoring capabilities for a Government customer. This role will provide systems engineering, integration, and test expertise across space and ground systems, helping deliver critical remote sensing capabilities to operational users. The position will work across system-of-systems, system, segment, and element levels to address requirements, interfaces, technical performance, and integration challenges throughout the program lifecycle.

Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications

This position plays a key role in integrating complex space and ground capabilities into an operational enterprise. The Systems Integration Engineer will develop and execute integration approaches, coordinate technical activities across system levels, and assess requirements, interfaces, performance, schedule, cost, and risk to support successful capability delivery. The role also requires the ability to evaluate evolving requirements, technologies, and threats and apply effective integration methodologies to remote sensing systems.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop and execute system integration plans for space and ground systems.
  • Lead and support integration activities at the system-of-systems, system, segment, and element levels.
  • Apply systems engineering, integration, and test principles throughout the development and deployment lifecycle.
  • Support requirements development, analysis, and verification activities.
  • Develop, evaluate, and support governance of interface control documentation.
  • Assess program critical paths and identify potential solutions to schedule, cost, and risk challenges.
  • Evaluate cost, schedule, risk, earned value management data, technical performance measures, technical specifications, and test reports across multiple development organizations.
  • Use Government contract and reporting systems to extract program data and analyze potential future performance trends.
  • Research evolving requirements, technologies, and threats affecting system integration and mission performance.
  • Apply integration methodologies and tools to support the delivery of remote sensing capabilities to operational users.
  • Coordinate technical information across stakeholders to support informed integration and program decisions.

Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience performing systems engineering, integration, and testing for space-related Major Defense Acquisition Programs.
  • Experience working on satellite programs.
  • Experience with requirements development or verification.
  • Experience with interface control document development or governance.
  • Knowledge of program critical path analysis and approaches for addressing schedule, cost, and risk issues.
  • Knowledge of cost, schedule, risk, earned value management, technical performance measures, technical specifications, and test reports from multiple contractors.
  • Knowledge of Government contracts and reporting systems used to extract data and analyze future performance trends.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience performing systems engineering, integration, and test on space-based remote sensing systems.
  • Experience with Space Based Environmental Monitoring.
  • Experience in Overhead Persistent Infrared, microwave imaging, defense weather, or tactical ISR mission areas.
  • Experience with remote sensing payloads, space-based weather payloads, satellite buses, and satellite subsystems, including propulsion, thermal control, power, attitude control, telemetry, tracking and command, communications, data processing, and structures.
  • Knowledge of DoD 5000.01/02.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science.
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification, including ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP.
  • DAWIA Level III Program Manager certification or Acquisition Professional Development Program Program Management Level III certification.

Clearance & Additional Requirements
  • Secret clearance required
  • Current TS/SCI eligibility desired.

Compensation:

The typical annual salary range for this position is approximately, USD $115,000 - $159,000. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a comprehensive total rewards package that includes an annual performance bonus, an employer-funded Profit-Sharing Plan (PSP) contribution based on base compensation, and comprehensive employer-paid medical benefits, PTO pay-out options, along with additional company-sponsored benefits. All of these benefits represent an additional 30-40% to your base compensation for a total compensation package.

Deliverable(s)

Deliverables could be in the format of a report, software file, briefing, spreadsheet, or other document as directed by the Government, using government approved and/or mandated systems/software and processes governed by guidance/instructions/policy or direction. The nature of this work will, at times, require quick responses to stringent deadlines and always in a high quality, professional manner.
