Systems Engineering Senior Manager (Level L)

Position Overview:

This role will work collaborate with our BCA and Enterprise Engineering leadership to identify and support specialized needs that enable technical excellence and a skilled talent pipeline across the workforce. The individual will collaborate with Global University relations and align with the Global Talent and Acquisition strategies in managing the sourcing and demand for early career engineering as aligned to our university strengths and integrate these efforts across BCA engineering.

Qualified candidates will have a track record of creating engineering strategy, translating strategy into plans, and demonstrated performance to plan discipline to create results-based outcomes A Strong ability to build relationships and partnerships with stakeholders, peers, and partners is also desired.

The role will also lead the education, communication and coordination with managers, senior skill leaders and focals on the resources and tools necessary to maintain our engineering baseline plans and hiring outcomes

The leader will also partner with new career development programs and specialty programs that meet the needs of BCA, communicate the recruiting detailed process approach to ensure all managers are aligned to key dates and milestones and organize representative resources for necessary campus teams. Position Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and lead intern and entry level demand gathering, portfolio development, strategic partnership recruiting and hiring in close partnership with the Enterprise Talent pipeline on university recruiting and the higher education strategy.
  • Validation and allocation of BCA engineering requirements to appropriate hiring initiatives as the BCA focal
  • Develop and present the BCA Engineering Intern and Entry Level demand forecast model incorporating the LRBP, attrition and functional demand breakdown of engineering needs.
  • Present recommendations for BCA Engineering forecast to BCA Executive Skill Team in partnership with HR.
  • Communicate strategy and execution plan to BCA Engineering Senior Skill Leaders and validate data to ensure functional performance to plan
  • Lead Technical Development strategy for BCA Engineering.
  • Partner with BCA skill teams and functional leaders to develop internal strategy, set priorities, and execute skills and talent management plans.
  • Direct the hiring and execution of BCA Engineering's summer intern and early career program strategy.
  • Partner with engineering enterprise skill leaders and represent BCA interests to identify best practices and consistent approaches with attracting, hiring, and retaining engineering talent.
  • Develop talent pipeline strategies which include global, critical/distinct skill assessments, career roadmaps, and Fellowship candidate readiness.
  • Integrate talent strategies with other engineering functional leaders and teams across Boeing to ensure consistency and best practice sharing.
  • Represents BCA in Engineering Technical Boards and other enterprise level initiatives.
  • Lead weekly Office Hours for BCA Engineering Skill Focals to provide update and ensure alignment to the approved strategy.
  • Drive accountability within BCA to meet commitments
  • Integrate across BCA functional teams and sites to operationalize the enterprise process guidance
  • Represent and advocate for BCA business needs in Engineering Technical Boards and other key decision-making forums and owning the decisions for the business unit.


Work Authorization:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Everett, WA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
  • 10+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and/or informal cross functional leadership role
  • 10+ years of experience in systems integration with systems engineering processes and procedures. (Systems Engineering, Engineering Integration and/or Functional Integration (e.g. Systems, Flight Sciences, Interiors, Propulsion) workforce or skill team development)


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Senior Engineering management experience
  • 10+ years' experience leading cross-functional teams and conversations, working across organizational boundaries, and ensuring an inclusive environment
  • Proven ability to design and implement skill and workforce training programs and measurable performance metrics
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with executive leadership, executive sill teams, Human Resources, and other engineering chiefs
  • Fundamental understanding of Engineering and workforce principles and needs
  • Ability to communicate the complexity of the engineering workforce needs across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
