What you'll do

Job Description:

Systems Engineer positions offered by Volvo Car USA LLC (Ridgeville, South Carolina). Troubleshoot integrations between applications and shop floor equipment. Provide technical solutions for problems within existing applications. Create application documentation including accurate support documentation for the support teams. Work with stakeholders to plan, schedule and supervise all application maintenance. Develop and implement continuous improvement activities. Work with the business partners in identifying project business value and provide direction for the business in creating multiple, interrelated functional specifications and their translation to IT design requirements. Coordinate, follow up and secure accurate testing in the appropriate areas. Define and review requirements and use cases for the applications. Perform technical design of configuration, build objects, reports and interfaces according to business requirements. Assist in coding, bugfix, and minor new development. Participate in on-call rotation supporting multi-shift operations.

Minimum Requirements:
• Requires a Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, or a related field and 5 years of experience working as an engineer or analyst
• Must have 3 years of experience using each of the following:
    • Unix, Windows or OpenVMS
    • Java and SQL
    • Spring, Springboot, Hibernate, Spring MVC, Log4J, and Restful
    • JSP, Servlets, SAX/DOM, JSON, Web Services, JSTL, JDBC, JAX-RS, JAX-WS, XML, AJAX, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, and ReactJS
    • Apache, Kafka, and MQ
    • AWS, Amazon EC2, S3, and Azure
    • Red Hat Openshift, Kubernetes, and Docker
    • Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and DB2
    • Apache Tomcat, Jboss, or Weblogic

• Also requires experience working in automotive manufacturing.
