Job Description

Systems Engineer - Bothell, WA

You will be part of the Systems Engineering team reporting into the larger R&D organization in Oral Healthcare. This team is responsible for bringing new-to-the-world innovations to the market to expand the product portfolio and realize business growth.

Your role:
  • Gather and translate stakeholder needs into actionable system requirements while maintaining end-to-end traceability. Support the definition, documentation, and management of requirements to ensure business objectives, design decisions, and lower-level system elements remain aligned throughout development.
  • Contribute to system design, modeling, and architecture development to enable informed engineering decisions. Create and maintain system models, simulations, interface documentation, and trade-off analyses that balance performance, cost, schedule, and technical constraints.
  • Support system integration, verification, and validation activities to ensure products meet defined requirements. Execute testing strategies, analyze results, document deviations, and collaborate on issue resolution to drive readiness for system verification and deployment.
  • Drive product quality, risk management, and configuration control throughout the product lifecycle Identify and mitigate technical risks, manage change control processes, maintain configuration traceability, and contribute to safety, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and regulatory compliance efforts.
  • Promote innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement through collaboration and emerging technologies. Apply data technologies and AI within systems engineering workflows, assess lifecycle and sustainability considerations, and foster strong cross-functional communication, technical growth, and quality-focused outcomes.


You're the right fit if:
  • You've acquired experience through internships, academic projects, or early-career roles in systems engineering or a related field. Prior professional experience is not required, but exposure to these areas is preferred.
  • Your preferred skills include requirements management & analysis, product testing & verification, systems design, product quality and reliability, and hardware/software engineering. Experience working with Python and or MATLAB is a plus.
  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, bioengineering/ or equivalent engineering discipline.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • You're an excellent communicator, both written and verbal


How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers' or suppliers' locations.

This is an office role.

The pay range for this position in Bothell, WA is $83,000 to $131,000

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more.
