Full Job Description
SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to fill to their large SETA program supporting the NRO's Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED) in Chantilly, VA.

The successful applicant will exhibit flexibility in task execution, provide technical/professional expertise on a variety of Systems Engineering topics (e.g., schedule management, requirements, configuration management, readiness, verification and validation, etc.), and advise the government on program activities. The work will initially focus on capability thread management, IT integration and risk management support to enable end-to-end closure for programs with available growth of scope and responsibility.

All candidates must have an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

Job Responsibilities to include:

On the Job Training will be provided in the customer's specific knowledge domain, but the successful candidate must be able to:
  • Contribute to planning capabilities needed to better support mission operations (e.g. automation, situational awareness, etc.)
  • Work with government and contractor points of contact across multiple Directorates and Offices to refine future ground system capability needs
  • Capture user needs, concept of operations, and high-level systems architectures to define capability needs and develop system requirements
  • Derive enterprise, system, functional, performance, and interface level requirements and work with the team to develop the corresponding documentation
  • Document and communicate key architecture and system level trades, system engineering risks, issues, opportunities, and dependencies
  • Support integration of architectures with other components of the technical baseline
  • Collaborate with SETA team members, engineers from various contractor and government organizations, and mission users
  • Develop assessments and briefings for a variety of audiences to convey information in crisp, articulate manner
  • Support agile process evolution across Government teams, development contractors, user engagement teams, and stakeholders


Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, science, or related discipline, or Associates Degree and two (2) years of experience is required. Significant applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with CI Polygraph
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work complex issues, and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated capability and success applying collaborative problem solving & execution skills to multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prepare and present various types of reports to all levels of Management
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications


Desired Education and Experience:
  • Experience providing systems engineering or project management support to software development and integration as part of a project management team
  • Digital engineering or model-based systems engineering understanding or experience
  • Agile development experience or formal agile training, particularly knowledge of agile software development methods (Scrum, SAFe)
  • General knowledge of Intelligence Community organizations, missions, processes and systems
