About the job you're considering The Systems Engineer for the Mechatronic group serves as a technical specialist; provides expertise to support the development of new product ideas, concepts and product improvements; ensures the designs are consistent with the organization objectives; and acts as the interface between Product Management, Solution/System Architects, Mechanical, Electrical and Software Developers for transforming the defined stakeholder requirements into a set of system/subsystem requirements that will guide the design of the solution.
Your role - Lead collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to gather and track goals and KPIs.
- Translate product goals into comprehensive system and subsystem requirements.
- Generate and maintain interface control documents for subsystem and vehicle interactions.
- Specify functional and non-functional requirements in detailed subsystem specification documents.
- Support analyzing impact when there are changes to stakeholder requirements.
- Assist Safety Engineers in analyzing systems/subsystems to mitigate risk exposure.
- Ensure safety goals, requirements, and methodologies are integrated into product designs.
- Evaluate new requests and provide accurate estimates for new features and functions.
- Participate in conceptual design and documentation processes.
- Lead design reviews to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Review and approve test plans and procedures for alignment with requirements.
- Contribute to business development through proposal inputs and customer meetings.
Your skills and experience - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 4-7 years of direct experience in requirements elicitation and generation.
- Proven track record in product development lifecycle for complex systems/subsystems.
- Experience in autonomous systems, robotics, or related fields highly desirable.
- Proficient in Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Strong understanding of design principles, hardware development, and requirement management tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills; strong communication abilities.
- Experience with requirement management tools such as IBM Doors, Jama Connect, Polarion, or other requirement management software.
- Experience with safety analysis such as HARAs, STPAs, FMEAs, and others.
- INCOSE SEP certification or CPRE certification preferred.
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: 68,911 - 161,544
