Description & Requirements

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Systems Engineer to join our team in Lexington Park, MD. This will be a hybrid position requiring 2-4 days onsite per week.

The Systems Engineer will leverage their strong technical background and knowledge to support the Systems Engineering Department (SED) and the PMA-273 program office, providing systems engineering support of weapons systems on various platforms, including technical research, development, analysis, and documentation throughout the full acquisition process and lifecycle.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Provide engineering and acquisition support to the Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE) in managing the T-6B Texan II primary fixed-wing training aircraft
  • Support critical systems engineering activities related to the sustainment, upgrades, and safety of the T-6B Texan II platform
  • Monitor system performance, integration, and airworthiness to ensure fleet readiness and overall training mission effectiveness
  • Coordinate directly with stakeholders across NAVAIR, training squadrons, and contractors to align engineering goals and drive project success
  • Contribute to risk management efforts, develop technical documentation, and ensure complete compliance with naval acquisition standards
  • Perform technical research, analysis, and development of technologies to support the evaluation of technical performance and mission suitability


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university
  • 3+ years of recent and relevant systems engineering experience
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, risk tracking, and compliance records


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with fixed-wing aircraft systems, flight training operations, or acquisition support for fixed-wing platforms
  • Engineering expertise supporting complex aviation or weapons systems platforms.
  • Experience working within a NAVAIR program office, ideally supporting PMA-273 or another aircraft platform program


Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a current or active DoD Secret clearance or higher


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.


The projected compensation range for this position is $77,200.00-$128,800.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
