Job Summary

We are seeking a senior Systems Engineer with deep expertise in Control-M administration, workload automation, infrastructure operations, and enterprise scheduling environments. The role is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and modernizing secure and resilient workload orchestration solutions across multi-environment infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Control-M, Linux/Unix, Windows Server, scripting, SQL, networking, and enterprise ITSM and monitoring tools. The position also contributes to automation-first initiatives, jobs-as-code, API-driven integration, and cloud-aligned scheduling capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Control-M Servers and Agents across multi-site environments, including on-premises and CoLo environments.
• Design, implement, and maintain job scheduling workflows, workload orchestration, and user and security configurations.
• Manage Control-M Configuration Manager and scheduling functions, including user management and platform administration.
• Conduct operational health checks, monitor system performance, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards and security requirements.
• Assess testing requirements, develop testing strategies, and prepare implementation and transition plans.
• Analyze and revise system logic, technical documentation, and engineering standards as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, operating system, and networking issues affecting scheduling infrastructure.
• Perform change and problem management using established ITSM processes and tools.
• Complete service requests, including Control-M Agent deployments and environment setup.
• Document issues, solutions, and workarounds in internal knowledge bases.
• Provide on-call support as required for 24x7 scheduling operations.
• Support Control-M Automation API, jobs-as-code adoption, workflow modernization, vendor enhancements, and enterprise integration initiatives.
• Provide engineering support for multi-environment workload orchestration and modernization initiatives.
• Contribute to modernization efforts involving resiliency engineering, cloud-aligned scheduling, and advanced automation capabilities.
• Lead complex technical engineering projects and coordinate technical resources as required.
• Train technical staff on Control-M tools, platform functionality, and engineering standards.
• Identify and communicate solution gaps, platform issues, and resiliency risks.
• Collaborate with business, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to support cross-functional initiatives.
• Participate in team meetings, issue reviews, prioritization, and continuous improvement activities.
• Apply risk management practices and comply with applicable internal standards, audit requirements, and information security policies.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 6-9+ years of relevant experience in IT engineering, infrastructure operations, workload automation, or a related field.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Control-M administration, including Server and Agent installation and configuration, job scheduling and workflow design, user access and security, patch management, and upgrades.
• Experience with Control-M orchestration across multiple environments, including on-premises and CoLo environments.
• Strong hands-on experience administering Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments.
• Strong shell scripting experience using Bash and PowerShell.
• Experience with log analysis and troubleshooting.
• Strong SQL skills and basic database troubleshooting experience with PostgreSQL or Oracle.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, ports, and firewall configuration.
• Experience with Control-M Configuration Manager and scheduling functions/user management.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow and Jira.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
• Strong documentation, root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Control-M Automation API, Workload Archiving, and Application Integrator.
• Advanced scripting experience with Python.
• Experience integrating scheduling platforms with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, GCP, or Control-M cloud deployments.
• Advanced SQL, database tuning, and performance optimization experience.
• Experience integrating security technologies, including SIEM tools, SSL, or Venafi.
• Experience working in Agile, SAFe, or scaled enterprise delivery environments.
• ITIL Foundation or BMC Control-M certification.
