Systems Engineer to support current Navy Program
Job Description:As a Thunderbolt Solutions team member, you will use your creativity and innovation to perform a variety of system and test engineering tasks in the Philadelphia Area. Your role will focus on performing a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities that are concerned with system modeling, requirements development, design, hardware/software integration, failure analysis, test and verification of electrical components of major Department of Defense systems.
Job Location: Moorestown, NJ
Responsibilities include:- Working with the customer to realize capabilities from concept through to implementation
- Generating SysML/UML models to refine and document new capabilities
- Synthesizing existing requirements, extending them to address new capabilities
- Performing integration activities including analysis, design, prototyping, integration testing, and documentation.
- Performing system verification, validation and manage system engineering processes.
- Conducting risk management for all engineering deliverables.
- Performing trade studies, analysis, and documentation to supplement the development of Engineering Change Proposals.
- Supporting technical lead in preparation for and conduct of technical interchange meetings (TIMs) to discuss engineering/technical issues
Qualifications:The successful candidate must demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years professional technical experience in System and Subsystem Requirements analysis, development, documentation, and validation of integrated systems, Aerospace/Defense systems, or commercial systems.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Engineering or related field.
- Knowledge of the MBSE process
- Familiarity with DOD Combat Systems
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML
- Modeling with Rational Rhapsody/Cameo a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills as demonstrated by a record of influencing internal leadership and external customers on design decisions.
- Understanding of electronic, electrical, computer, and networking systems.
- Possess or Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
- Integration and Test Experience
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Other desired qualifications include:
- Knowledge of systems engineering development methodologies.
- Knowledge and implementation Product Line Engineering (PLE)
- Experience with airborne sensors and surveillance systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills as demonstrated by a record of influencing internal leadership and external customers on design decisions.
- Current U.S. DOD Secret Security Clearance.
- MBSE experience
- Experience with DOORS
- Requirements development and decomposition
- Element and Systems level testing
- Test procedure development
- Test procedure execution
- Good communications skills to work cross-functionally with other SSDS teams
- Prior combat systems development knowledge
- Agile software development process knowledge
- Jira experience
- Basic coding experience (C++)(for code inspections/reviews)
- Experience with pub/sub message protocols like DDS
