Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer with expertise in systems integration, testing, and enterprise engineering to support mission-critical GEOINT capabilities across the National System of Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and other Federal partners. In this role, you will guide engineering teams through the full systems engineering lifecycle while leading integration and test activities that ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing mission systems.

This position is ideal for a technical leader who thrives in complex environments, enjoys mentoring engineers, and has experience supporting large-scale cloud, hybrid, or on-premises systems within the DoD or Intelligence Community.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and mentor mid-level and junior engineers across systems engineering, integration, and testing efforts.
  • Guide the full systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements engineering, solution development, integration, testing, evaluation, reliability, maintainability, and systems analysis.
  • Support the planning, analysis, and traceability of mission requirements, system architectures, workflows, and operational procedures.
  • Assist the Government in translating mission and customer needs into technical requirements and engineering solutions.
  • Analyze and allocate requirements across system architecture components and implementation programs.
  • Perform systems integration activities across complex System of Systems and Service-Oriented Architectures.
  • Conduct Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Course of Action (CoA) analyses, trade studies, engineering assessments, and technical evaluations.
  • Support strategic technical planning, project management, risk management, performance engineering, and interface design.
  • Lead application, system, API, and integration testing efforts across enterprise environments.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test plans, scripts, and procedures.
  • Perform independent validation of software and hardware to ensure compliance with functional and technical requirements.
  • Execute testing within Agile and DevSecOps environments using government and industry best practices.
  • Investigate, document, and help resolve defects discovered during testing activities.
  • Operate across multiple interconnected systems, services, and organizations supporting major acquisition programs and enterprise-level mission capabilities.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Engineering Management, Management Information Systems, or another related STEM discipline.
    • Additional experience may be substituted for a degree (4 years with no degree or 2 years with a non-STEM degree).
  • 12+ years of experience supporting government or industry programs involving systems engineering, systems integration, testing, or large-scale enterprise architectures.
  • Experience supporting large, complex System of Systems or Service-Oriented Architecture environments across cloud, hybrid, or on-premises infrastructures.
  • Strong understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Experience with application, system, integration, and API testing.
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools.
  • Experience supporting Agile, DevOps, and traditional software development methodologies.
  • Experience performing requirements analysis, systems integration, engineering assessments, and technical evaluations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the NSG, ASG, and/or NRO enterprise environments.
  • Previous NGA, NSG/ASG, IC, or DoD program experience.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain SCI eligibility and successfully complete a polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or another related STEM discipline.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Digital Engineering, and modern Systems Engineering practices.
  • Experience with Software Development Frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with tools and technologies such as Jenkins, Docker, JMeter, Postman, Swagger, Nexus, Apigee, GitHub/GitLab, Java, Bash, Curl, Python, JavaScript, SQL, XML, JSON, AWS, and C2S.
  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience supporting geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) programs.
  • Expertise in photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, information sciences, geographic information systems (GIS), geomatics, or related disciplines.
  • Active participation in professional organizations such as USGIF, ASPRS, OGC, ACSM, ASCE, or SAREM.

 

Target Salary Range$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
