Mainframe Systems Programmer / Infrastructure Engineer to join our Technology Services team supporting enterprise mainframe environments. This role will focus on administering, supporting, and enhancing IBM z/OS infrastructure, with an emphasis on system software installation, lifecycle management, automation, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on mainframe experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to support complex enterprise technologies in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities- Support and maintain IBM z/OS mainframe environments, including system software installation, configuration, administration, and lifecycle management.
- Perform hands-on infrastructure engineering activities across multiple mainframe technologies, including JCL, DB2, IMS, CICS, security systems, and related utilities.
- Install, support, and maintain ISV software and IBM operating system components within the mainframe environment.
- Assist with modernization efforts, automation initiatives, and process improvements to enhance platform reliability and efficiency.
- Support enterprise tools, utilities, monitoring solutions, and data transport technologies.
- Partner with cross-functional technology teams to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and improve operational capabilities.
- Apply architectural and design principles to support scalable and resilient mainframe services.
Required Skills & Experience- 8+ years of hands-on experience supporting mainframe environments (10+ years preferred).
- Strong experience with IBM z/OS systems programming or mainframe infrastructure engineering.
- Experience administering and supporting mainframe system software and infrastructure components.
- Knowledge of JCL and ISPF/TSO.
- Experience with one or more mainframe specialties, including DB2, IMS, CICS, or mainframe security.
- Experience with mainframe security technologies such as RACF, ACF2, or TSS.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and communicate effectively with technical teams.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments; financial services experience is a plus.
Preferred Skills & Experience- Experience with BMC mainframe products, including BMC AMI Ops Automation, MainView, monitoring, output management, or console management tools.
- Experience with SMP/E software installation processes.
- Knowledge of VTAM, TCP/IP, IBM Connect:Direct, CA Session Manager, and CA Spool.
- Experience supporting ITSM processes, including Change Management, Release Management, and CMDB.
- Experience working with mainframe modernization, automation, or platform enhancement initiatives.
