Job Description

Join a team that designs, develops and integrates highly complex systems within Honeywell Mechanical Systems and Components organization in the Actuation Group. You will be integral in creating design solutions for actuation systems across the aerospace industry from flight control actuation on aircraft, missiles and launch vehicles. You will be involved in every aspect of the system life cycle; from the initial design concepts through product end of life.

You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Program Manager, and you'll work out of our Tempe, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.

  • System and Component Requirements analysis and decomposition
  • Actuation system integration and component development
  • Mechanical Systems design and component controller integration
  • Electro-Mechanical System and Component Modeling and Analysis
  • Control architecture and design
  • Physics based model development and system design
  • Root cause and corrective action planning and execution
  • Mechanical Systems validation & verification
  • Customer technical interface
  • Effective delegation of work to team members


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Systems Engineering experience.

WE VALUE
  • Advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Background in Electrical Engineering, including exposure to circuit design and motor control systems
  • Understanding of system and component development lifecycles
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Familiarity with requirements management and requirements flow-down processes
  • Experience supporting root cause investigations and corrective action initiatives
  • Exposure to the development of motor-driven actuation systems
  • Knowledge of control architecture implementation within electronic controller applications
  • Experience with real-time hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) development and testing
  • Understanding of control theory concepts such as system dynamics, frequency response, stability margins, and system interactions
  • Proficiency with system modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Excel, or similar software
  • Familiarity with thermodynamics and fluid dynamics principles
  • Ability to quickly learn, adapt, and apply new concepts and technologies
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and global organizations
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving and task execution
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Experience supporting system verification and validation (V&V) activities
