REAL TIME CONSULTING (An RTCo Company)-POSITION DESCRIPTIONJOB TITLE: System Engineer - Aircraft Surveillance SystemsABOUT THE JOB:This position is responsible for system verification activities for aircraft surveillance systems in accordance with ARP4754A systems development cycle and DO-178B software development cycle.These new and legacy aircraft surveillance systems include TCAS (Traffic Collision Avoidance System), TAWS (Terrain Avoidance Warning System), ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast) and transponder systems.
REQUIRED SKILLS:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer/Aerospace Engineering or Computer Science
- 3+ years system development of safety critical embedded avionics systems
- Experience developing system test procedures, system test cases and system test scripts
- Familiar with the ARP-4754A aircraft systems lifecycle
- Familiar with DOORS for requirements capture and tracing
- Familiar with ClearCase version control and configuration management system
- Familiar with ClearQuest for creating and tracking change requests
- Familiar with MATLAB/Simulink for performing simulations
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Accountable and takes ownership of assigned tasks
- Self-motivated and takes initiative to get things done
PREFERRED SKILLS:- Familiar with TCAS
- Familiar with TAWS
- Familiar with Mode-S transponder systems
- Familiar with ADS-B
- Familiar with ARP-4761 Guidelines and Methods for Conducting Safety Assessments
- Familiar with DO-178B/C Guidelines for Software Development of Avionics products
- Experience with Python scripting
- Experience with pytest Python unit testing framework
- Experience with system testing in a VALFAC (validation facility) environment
