The Opportunity:

Provide frontline IT support and systems administration services, resolving hardware and software infrastructure issues to ensure appropriate function of end-user systems and network connectivity. As a Systems Administrator II (Help Desk), you will:
  • Respond to and resolve help desk tickets covering workstation, network, and system access issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with IT infrastructure including user systems, servers, storage, and network connectivity
  • Provide day-to-day system administration support for assigned infrastructure and maintain user account security
  • Apply security patches and operating system upgrades to ensure the security and integrity of the technical environment
  • Support new infrastructure projects and system rollouts
  • Instruct and train end users on approved software applications and IT best practices


Responsibilities:
  • Serve as first point of contact for end-user technical support requests via phone, email, ticketing system, or in-person
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network connectivity, and account access issues for desktop, laptop, and mobile devices
  • Perform account provisioning, password resets, and access management in Active Directory or equivalent directory services
  • Install, configure, and maintain workstation hardware, peripherals, and approved software applications
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior systems administrators or specialized technical teams as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation of help desk tickets, resolutions, and configuration changes in the ticketing system
  • Support imaging, deployment, and configuration of new workstations and equipment
  • Assist with maintaining network security by monitoring for and reporting suspicious activity or potential security incidents
  • Apply routine security patches, antivirus updates, and operating system upgrades to maintain a secure computing environment
  • Maintain configuration documentation for assigned infrastructure and user support activities
  • Provide basic training and guidance to end users on software applications, systems access, and IT security practices
  • Support VTC, printer, and peripheral device troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Work independently with general supervision while escalating difficult or complex problems appropriately


Qualifications:

Required:
  • Active Secret security clearance (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of professional experience in systems administration or IT help desk support
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows and/or Linux desktop operating systems
  • Familiarity with Active Directory user account management, password resets, and basic group policy concepts
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP concepts
  • Experience using IT service management (ITSM) ticketing systems to track and resolve support requests
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical end users
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision and prioritize multiple support requests
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Compliance with Cyber WorkForce (CWF) directives, including any required certifications


Desired:
  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or ITIL Foundation
  • Experience supporting DoD or government IT environments
  • Familiarity with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and secure configuration baselines
  • Experience with remote desktop support tools and remote troubleshooting techniques
  • Knowledge of mobile device management (MDM) platforms
  • Experience with imaging and deployment tools (e.g., SCCM, MDT, Ghost)
  • Familiarity with VOIP systems, VTC equipment, and basic AV troubleshooting
  • Experience supporting classified or secure network environments
  • Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Batch) for automating routine tasks
  • Previous experience in a military, government, or defense contractor help desk environment
  • Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) basics as they relate to end-user systems
