Job Description

HII - Mission Technologies is currently seeking a Systems Administrator to work in Fort Meade, MD in support of a multi-national developed capability that connects respective existing national Secret networks and services to deliver improved information sharing capabilities between Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
  • Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system-wide software, and allocating mass storage space.
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery.
  • Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Responsible for the installation, checkout, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operations of information technology hardware, software, wiring, and systems and involved in other system-level duties, document installation, and issues related to it.
  • Maintains technical expertise in all network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing areas, such as routers, switches, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Evaluate and report on new network technologies to enhance the network's capabilities.


Minimum Qualifications

10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience.

  • Applicable common System Engineering certification(s) such as, but not limited to, MSCE, CSEP, CCNA, CISSP
  • Must have an Active Secret Security Clearance
  • US Citizen


Preferred Requirements

  • Experience working with ServiceNow
  • Experience working in or for the military
  • Expertise in Multi-national Combatant Command-level military exercises, coalition networking supporting military operations, and/or Mission Partner Environments, such as Pegasus.
  • Experience or interest in materials, material applications, defense systems, and/or supply chains.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Effective data analysis and problem-solving skills; attention to detail.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Agile/Scrum Familiarity with Agile, Kanban, Scrum, how Scrum is done, standard Scrum/Agile.
