As a System Simulation Engineer you will work with a team of Systems and Software Engineers in performing the following duties and functions:
• Develop a 6DOF physics based missile trajectory simulation used across the FBM program
• Write or modify software to support and perform specific analysis.
• Perform verification and validation of the new simulation against legacy simulation and post flight data
• Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements
• Creating technical memos present simulation demos to internal engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel during technical exchange meetings.
• Provide support to the missile simulation's user base, working groups, for LM personnel and various non-LM FBM contractors.
Basic Qualifications
• Experience as a Systems Engineer, Aerospace Engineer, Software Engineer, or Guidance, Navigation, & Controls (GNC) Engineer
• Experience in flight dynamics, trajectories, physics-based modeling, and/or time domain simulations.
• Programming experience in C++
• Experience with software configuration management tools (Git, Artifactory, Nexus or similar)
• Active/Valid Secret Security clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance; US Citizenship require.
Desired skills
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, physics or other related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to include generation and presentation of verification plans, analysis reports, algorithm description documentation, other technical documents.
• 1+ years Hands-on experience performing guidance, navigation, or flight control engineering on aerospace or missile applications
• Experience integrating and testing hardware and software in Hardware In-the-Loop (HWIL)
• Experience programming in UNIX/LINUX operating system (O/S) environment.
• Strong problem-solving abilities; can debug and optimize scripts
• Familiarity with STK, MBSE, Cameo, Agile. process.
• FBM program experience is a plus.
• Active Top Secret clearance.
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300 - $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
