Job Description:

As a System Diagram Technician for the U.S. Space Force Evolved Strategic SATCOM (ESS) Project Enigma, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a system diagram, draftsman technician who works within the Technical Delivery Engineering team to support all necessary creation, updates, modifications, or corrections to systems, network, cloud, and leadership diagram and draftsman needs maintained in a central repository, as well as provide field-related support on projects.

Here a System Diagram Technician is involved with the day-to-day activities relating to examining, interpreting, and visualizing the engineering team's operational views, system views, capability views, and data / information views. These artifacts will generate insights, comply with cyber security and national organizational requirements to maintain system authorization and drive new business processes. The System Diagram Technician works with the team to assess and improve documentation standardization and collection processes to prepare standard and ad hoc artifacts to assist senior management with meeting deadline tasks, and decision making.

HOW A SYSTEM DIAGRAM TECHNICAIN WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Proactively maintain artifacts to answer key questions from stakeholders or personal initiative with an eye for detail and presenting graphical views to stakeholders.
  • Define and document Configuration Item attributes, as-designed, and as-built architecture throughout their lifecycle
  • Design and document all technical related artifacts to include network diagrams, data flow diagrams, etc. utilizing tools such as Microsoft Visio or AutoCAD
  • Gathering critical information from multiple stakeholders to specify and validate graphical representations or data extracts using established drawing and documentation standards.
  • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, identifying areas for improvement, and developing documentation in support of the project's overall objectives
  • Establishing and implementing Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) compliance standards.
  • Effectively communicating insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
  • Identify and modify complex contextual errors, reorganize content, and edit graphics, tables, and illustrations.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in business administration, Information Technology, or a related field of study - preferred


Certifications

  • ITIL 4 - highly desired


Experience:

  • 8+ years of related experience supporting Configuration Management, Networks, Cyber Security or Systems Administration teams providing technical diagram drafting services
  • Implementing Autodesk AutoCAD standards to technical diagrams and documentation
  • Considerable experience with Network Architecture documentation, Business Administration, Project Management or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability implementing Visio diagramming standards for IT/Network/System architecture
  • Good record-keeping and organizational skills


Security Clearance:

  • Secret clearance required, ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI

The likely salary range for this position is $85,093 - $106,950. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
