Job Description:

Quevera is seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Administrator with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to support mission-critical programs in Fort Meade, Maryland.

In this role, you will support enterprise Linux environments operating across multiple networks, architectures, and hybrid cloud infrastructures. You will be responsible for building, maintaining, securing, and optimizing Linux systems while leveraging automation to improve operational efficiency and reliability. Working within a collaborative team environment, you'll troubleshoot complex issues, implement scalable solutions, and support critical national security missions.

As a Linux Systems Administrator, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside talented engineers, contribute to modern infrastructure solutions, and expand your expertise across Linux administration, automation technologies, and cloud environments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, maintain, and support enterprise Linux environments across multiple networks and architectures.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement long-term solutions to improve reliability and availability.
  • Perform system patching, upgrades, security hardening, and ongoing maintenance activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance automation solutions using Bash, Python, Puppet, and Ansible.
  • Collaborate with engineers, administrators, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and support mission requirements.
  • Contribute to infrastructure design decisions and implement scalable solutions within hybrid cloud environments.
  • Support cloud-based infrastructure and services within AWS environments.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and operational procedures.
  • Mentor junior team members and promote best practices across the team.
  • Continuously evaluate opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.


Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • Ten (10) years of Systems Administration experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university. Five (5) additional years of Systems Administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Active at IAT Level II certification or higher, compliant with DoD 8570.01-M (CompTia Security+, CCNA, etc.) is required.
  • Strong Linux administration experience, including system configuration, patching, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Experience developing automation using Bash, Python, Puppet, and/or Ansible.
  • Experience collaborating across technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff members and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and adopt new technologies.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting AWS cloud environments.
  • Experience with AWS EC2 Auto Scaling.
  • Experience using AWS CLI and Boto3.
  • Experience supporting hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Experience implementing infrastructure automation and configuration management best practices.
