Full Job Description
This position reports to:
Americas Region Operational Excellence Project Director

In this role you will be responsible for leading a team within a production unit or line in the execution of production processes to transform parts and raw materials into ABB products in a timely, cost-effective manner. This role is in Electrification Services in Mebane, NC, ensuring continuous and efficient operation in accordance with volumes, schedules, procedures, drawings, quality and safety standards and policies.

The work model for the role is onsite in Mebane, NC (#LI-Onsite)

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Resource allocation: Organizes and allocates resources to effectively and efficiently meet line production targets. Responds to resource issues as necessary. Leads capacity planning and resource optimization for the assigned area.
  • Production scheduling and plan: Ensures that production scheduling and production plan meets the volume requirements agreed in the demand plan and defines inventory service levels.
  • Equipment and facilities: Identifies and recommends technical equipment and facility improvements as necessary.
  • Production execution: Ensures execution of volume, conforming product, and on-time delivery targets for the assigned production lines.
  • Operations improvement: Identifies deficiencies in production area, proposes improvement activities, and oversees implementation of actions to improve production performance.
  • Critical line issues: Manages the resolution of critical product or equipment issues together with relevant internal teams.
  • People leadership and development: Ensures (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates, and develops, direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies.


Qualifications for the role (Mandatory)
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Electrical Engineering or equivalent) with 5+ years of experience, or associates with 7+ years and HS with 10+ years; or alternately a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments in production/manufacturing environment or leadership.
  • Relevant industry experience (specifically in breakers, switchgears, electrification manufacturing) is strongly preferred
  • Sound knowledge of supply chain insourcing and outsourcing decisions and process and the electrification market.
  • Knowledge of ERP (SAP)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to implement and support changes.
  • Ability to travel an estimated 10%
  • Candidates must already possess authorization to work for ABB in the US
