SVP/VP - Network Evaluation Methodology & Discount

Aon is seeking a Senior Vice President / Vice President to lead the strategy, design and continuous advancement of our network evaluation methodologies, models and analytics. This role will serve as the primary methodological architect for Network Analytics and as a key strategic partner to the Network Health Analytics Leader.

This role will set the roadmap for Aon's network evaluation framework, ensuring our analytics are rigorous, scalable and differentiated in the market. This role will work closely with actuarial, data science, engineering, clinical and consulting leaders to turn complex analytics into client-ready solutions that support network, pricing and value-based care strategies.

This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work virtually and/or from an Aon office, with preference for Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, New York, or other major Aon locations.

What the day will look like

Support the evolution and growth of network analytics capabilities by contributing to solution development, product enhancements, AI-enabled use case development, and analytics partnerships.

Lead the design and maintenance of Aon's core network evaluation methodology, including:
  • Final sign-off on UDS data and methodology
  • Evolution of next generation Total cost-of-care analyses
  • Ongoing development of alternative and emerging health plan evaluation framework including but not limited to narrow/high-performing networks, ACOs, carveout centers of excellence, primary care-led arrangements, cost/quality steerage arrangements, and other value-based and/or emerging models
  • Act as national point-of-contact with carriers for UDS data and discount methodology

Develop and enhance analytic models and tools that support:
  • Opportunity quantification, benchmarking and scenario testing for network strategies.
  • Evaluation of financial proposals for traditional, alternative and emerging health plans and networks
  • Incorporation of price-transparency, provider quality, and other emerging data sources into Aon's network evaluation capabilities.


Partner with data engineering, data science and actuarial teams to:
  • Translate methods into scalable data pipelines, algorithms and interactive tools.
  • Define data requirements and quality rules for network analytics.


Client-facing and external support:
  • Advise on solution design for large/complex clients and strategic opportunities.
  • Participate in client and prospect meetings to showcase explain analytic capabilities and methods.
  • Showcase and present on analytics capabilities and market trends at both internal and external events.
  • Participate in growth-related activities including development of consulting materials, sales materials, leading national trainings, training and organizing sales resources.

Stay current on emerging trends and industry developments, propose new capabilities or suggestions to revamp existing capabilities to meet emerging client needs. Stay current on leading edge vendor and partner capabilities.

Lead and develop a small team of network evaluation specialists:
  • Review technical work product and ensure accuracy and clarity.
  • Coach and mentor junior staff in methods, tools and best practices.

Collaborate across Aon (Commercial Analytics, Actuarial, Innovation, Clinical, Aon Business Services) to ensure consistent use of network analytics in broader solutions and contribute to internal and external thought leadership.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in health care consulting, health plan, or related environment with significant responsibility for UDS / discount methodology, network measurement, provider contracting analytics, or value-based care program evaluation.
  • Hands-on experience evaluating medical provider networks, including traditional and emerging health plans, ACOs/CINs, high-performance and tiered networks, narrow networks, and value-based arrangements.
  • Demonstrated experience designing or governing analytic methodologies, models or products (e.g., pricing/underwriting, network evaluation, risk adjustment).
  • Strong proficiency working with large health claims and encounter datasets; familiarity with provider quality data and coding standards (CPT, DRG, ICD-10-PCS).
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences, including senior business and clinical leaders.
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams (actuarial, data science, engineering, product, consulting) to build and scale analytic solutions.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and market trends affecting network analytics (e.g., price transparency, Affordable Care Act provisions).
  • Strong project and program management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to coach and develop junior technical talent.
  • Working knowledge for Python + SQL
  • Ability to travel approximately 10-20% of the time.


Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Health Policy or related field required.
  • Actuarial credentials (ASA/FSA) required.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $200,000 to $250,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
