DescriptionYour role in helping us shape the future:We are seeking a results-oriented Sales Executive to be a front-line sales executive and carry a book of business in order to drive top-line growth and strengthen our competitive market presence. Working alongside senior leadership, you will have the opportunity to influence company strategy and will play a pivotal role in helping to accelerate U.S. News' next phase of revenue growth.
This ideal candidate will partner closely with marketing, product, and editorial to develop scalable go-to-market strategies, strengthen client relationships, expand strategic partnerships, and position U.S. News within the marketplace.
Are you up to the challenge?Sales - Meet or exceed quarterly and annual individual revenue goals by partnering with the sales team to grow the existing base of business and proactively prospect new business.
- Develop a deep understanding of clients' businesses, priorities, and challenges, and utilize that knowledge to create partnerships that drive value for clients.
- Expertly articulate and position the U.S. News brand, audience, and product portfolio-including events, digital display, branded content, and programmatic solutions-to prospective partners.
- Negotiate and structure commercial deals with agency and client decision-makers. Actively cultivate and lead the development of custom, complex deal structures, ensuring they align with both client objectives and U.S. News revenue goals.
- Maintain a rigorous sales pipeline while delivering accurate, data-driven insights to senior leadership.
- Champion a culture of data-informed decision-making by leveraging analytics to prioritize sales efforts and improve market penetration.
- Incorporate AI in the research workflows for identifying relevant sales opportunities and contacts.
- Work with marketing and sales strategy to create effective and compelling sales materials, proposals and RFP responses.
- Act as a strategic partner to the sales team by helping to coach junior staff, facilitating high-level introductions, and identifying untapped market opportunities.
Revenue Development & Implementation - Cultivate and grow long-term relationships with agencies, well-known brands, and clients to drive meaningful revenue growth across all aspects of the business, from advertising to strategic marketing efforts and events. Monitor the revenue pipeline and leads, adjusting as necessary for sustainable growth
- Collaborate with the finance, product management, and marketing teams on messaging, pricing strategies, and business models for achieving revenue goals.
Position Requirements You should definitely have: - Minimum of ten (15) years of sales experience, including leadership experience, within media or publishing organizations, with a track record of being able to hit and exceed quarterly sales goals.
- Demonstrable success, with strong, established executive-level client and agency relationships.
- Proven track record of growing revenue through new-product development, marketing, branding, and developing new partnerships. Specifically working to solve client challenges with custom solutions.
- Fluency with sales analytics and CRM best practices to effectively track, manage, and optimize client relationships.
- Familiarity with selling events and digital media products including display, newsletters, webinars, programmatic and branded content.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed goals through persistence, organization, and follow-up.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; confident speaking with clients, prospects, and internal stakeholders.
- Detail oriented and organized with a strong ability to prioritize, multitask and perform under deadlines.
- High energy, enthusiasm, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.

- The anticipated base salary for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 with a meaningful commission plan. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, interview performance, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. Compensation details do not include bonus or revenue incentives, if applicable.
