Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Survey Technician to deliver a wide range of surveying and geomatics projects. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background in modern and conventional survey methods, including LiDAR, photogrammetry, GPS/TPS, and drone-based mapping. In this role, you will conduct field survey tasks for construction services and ensure adherence to internal standards and jurisdictional requirements. You may also contribute to office production tasks such as data processing, traverse adjustments, mapping, legal descriptions, and preparation of deliverables including topographic surveys. Core Responsibilities • Performs and leads surveying, mapping, and geomatic services using LiDAR, photography, drones, GPS, and conventional methods for construction, design mapping, as-builts, boundary retracement, monitoring, and construction staking tasks. • Maintains and adjusts survey equipment (total stations, data collectors, levels, compasses, tribrachs, tripods) to ensure compliance with company regulatory, safety, quality, and confidentiality standards. • Prepares accurate, complete, timely, and value-added deliverables and survey interpretations, including performing trigonometry, geometry, coordinate geometry, and basic surveying calculations to ensure quality and accuracy. • Applies industry best practices and maintains functional knowledge of innovative land surveying technologies and methods, including LiDAR, drones, GPS, and conventional approaches. • Supports field and office operations by observing survey fieldwork, maintaining records, timekeeping, expense reporting, conducting CADD drafting, computations, records research, and reducing field data for project delivery.Insert responsibility • Ensures safety and compliance with traffic control and OSHA standards, builds relationships with clients and regulatory agencies, and contributes to technician training development and execution, including creating and delivering course materials and guidance.
