Bolton & Menk has a great opportunity for a Survey Project Manager to join our Cedar Rapids team. As a Survey Project Manager, you will oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of multiple survey projects and project teams. We're seeking a candidate who applies sound survey principles to effectively plan, evaluate, and complete projects. In this role, you will review field measurements, guide the preparation of survey documents, and perform or supervise field surveys as needed for scheduling, quality control, or professional oversight. Projects are often integrated with engineering efforts for a diverse range of public and private clients, including boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, topographic mapping, and construction staking.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Manage planning, scheduling, and execution of multiple surveying projects and project teams
  • Serve as a primary client contact, resolving project-related issues and maintaining strong relationships
  • Define project scopes, participate in contract negotiations and oversee budget development and monitoring
  • Supervise and review final survey deliverables to ensure compliance with corporate quality standards
  • Lead business development efforts, support marketing initiatives and contribute to strategic planning for service growth
  • Organize project assignments and oversee the work of survey technicians
  • Apply expert knowledge of survey principles to improve processes and implement quality control practices

What We Are Looking For:
  • Associate's degree in civil engineering technology or equivalent coursework or experience
  • 10 or more years of surveying experience
  • Working knowledge of surveying equipment and software (i.e., Trimble, AutoCAD, Civil3D)
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and staff from various agencies.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced math skills and strong attention to detail
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable at the Firm's standard rates. A motor vehicle record (MVR) check is a standard condition of employment.
  • Some travel will be required.
