Job Title: CVOR Surgical Tech

Certifications: BLS required
Must-Have: COVID vaccine required

Description:
COVID vaccine required.
WA license for CVOR Tech is necessary.
Unit has 4 CVOR suites.
Average of 22-45 cases per day across all specialties.
Close proximity to Cath lab.
Cath lab nurses will run wires, and CVOR nurse will be on standby for vascular cases.
Experience with robotics preferred but not required.
Training available for those without robotic experience.
Certifications for RNs include BLS and ACLS.
Techs require BLS and a WA state license, but no national certification is needed.
Electronic Medical Record system is EPIC.
Charge nurse on every shift covers both main and CVOR.
Resource nurse support available for CVOR.
Weekend coverage required, with call time for staff.
Call shifts for RNs: 6-8 per month.
Call starts at 9 PM and ends at 6:30 AM.
Weekend call involves 12-hour and 24-hour backup shifts.
Weekend call for techs is similar.
Call response time is 30 minutes.
Holidays are covered by rotation.
Scrub colors are provided.
Tele-Surgeons available on call after hours.
IV Team and pharmacy are available 24/7.
Shifts vary from 8, 10, and 12 hours during the week.
Block scheduling is permitted.
Floating between CVOR and main OR may occur.
Orientation is a week specific to the floor.
Common cases include standard cardiac and vascular procedures.
Some procedures utilize robotics.
Scrubbing is required for RNs but preferred for techs.
Housing may be difficult, but block scheduling will be accommodated.
Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment.
Charting system used is Epic.
BSN is not required.
Trauma level is acute.
Care setting is acute.
Division is Allied.
Shift notes indicate 4/10s during the day.
Required certifications include BLS.
