How you'll make an impact in this role

  • Lead daily operations of surgical suites in support of surgical procedures.
  • Lead and coordinate shift operations including schedules and resources.
  • Prepare surgical operating suites with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Assist surgeons during surgery, provide required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeons and assist with hemostasis.
  • Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
  • Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments count throughout procedures.
  • Perform staff orientation, training, and coaching. Provide input to staff performance evaluations.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Surgical Assistant credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association preferred.


Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

What additional preferences we're seeking

  • 3 years CST experience in acute care multi-specialty facility
  • Trauma experience
