The Opportunity:

Make your mark while you grow your career! We are looking for a driven, motivated professional with a strong work ethic to join the Surface Land team in the Thermal area. This role requires sound judgement and strong negotiation skills, as you will be responsible for a broad portfolio including surface rights acquisition, as well as community and government relations and consultation. You will have the exciting opportunity to highlight your superior communication skills as you represent Canadian Natural at community, industry committee and government meetings. As a highly organized individual, you will find significant potential for career growth and progressive autonomy in this role as you add value to the team while learning and building your Landman skillset.
  • Job location: St. Albert or Bonnyville, Alberta (Thermal Operations NE Alberta)
  • Shift schedule: 5 x 2, 8-hour shifts
  • Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:
  • Coordinate and manage land access for well sites, pipelines and facilities
  • Coordinate and conduct Indigenous consultation
  • Develop positive working relationships with Indigenous communities near our operations
  • Work with Geophysical Operations on community consultation and government permits
  • Coordinate and manage positive relations with all stakeholders, including managing participant involvement and public consultation programs
  • Provide direction to Land, Survey and Environmental companies

What You Bring to the Role:
  • Minimum 5 years of direct or related experience with relevant post-secondary education
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license is required
  • Experience in planning, organizing, and implementing strategies, programs and activities would be an asset
  • Alberta Land Agent Licence
  • Commissioner for Oaths
  • Vast knowledge of crown land acquisition and Alberta's Water Act
