About this opportunity:Reporting to the Surface Land Manager, the Surface Land Analyst plays a critical role in supporting Cenovus' land operations through the administration of surface rights, third-party agreements, and land-related records. This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate processing of agreements, maintenance of land information systems, and compliance with contractual obligations. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, the Analyst helps facilitate efficient land management practices that support safe, reliable, and responsible operations across Cenovus assets.
What you'll do: - Review, process, and administer third-party agreements, road use agreements, and related land contracts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company requirements.
- Administer land-related billing activities, including invoice processing, payment tracking, cost recoveries, and reconciliation of agreement obligations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within surface land systems, databases, and files, ensuring data integrity and adherence to document management standards.
- Monitor contractual commitments and regulatory requirements, proactively identifying compliance issues and supporting the resolution of land-related concerns.
- Assist in and support the acquisition, renewal, amendment, and maintenance of surface rights required for ongoing operations and development activities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, landowners, government agencies, industry partners, and other external parties to facilitate effective communication and support business objectives.
Who you are:Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Surface Land administration, preferably with direct experience managing Road Use Agreements and Third-Party Agreements.
- Working knowledge of freehold and Crown land acquisition processes in Alberta Saskatchewan, and British Columbia experience are considered assets.
- Post-secondary education in Land Administration, Petroleum Land Management, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with land administration software and systems, including STACK ROADS, STACK DX, CS Explorer, Microsoft Office, AbaData, and EnergyLink; experience with regulatory systems is an asset.
