Job Description:

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the NKC Health Senior Director of Pharmacy, the Supervisor - Ambulatory Pharmacy provides oversight and strategic development of assigned service lines comprised of multiple interdisciplinary teams. Ensures optimal utilization of resources and the efficient delivery of services as evidenced by revenue cycle effectiveness, budgetary adherence, and high-quality clinical care, and customer satisfaction. EXPERIENCE: At least 3 years experience in pharmacy management. SPECIAL SKILLS: Thorough knowledge of hospital pharmacy practice and management.

REQUIRED: Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) and 3 years of experience as a clinical hospital pharmacist

Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of Missouri or eligibility for pharmacist licensure

PREFERRED: Completion of an ASHP approved, PGY1 Health System Pharmacy Residency Program

Medication Therapy Services (MTS) endorsement by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy

Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) certification

Job Responsibilities:

Routinely reviews management reporting data to ensure service lines are meeting operational, revenue cycle, quality and financial benchmarks. Ensures service lines meet strategic initiatives and improves fiscal management. Develops, plans, and budgets on a strategic and operational level for each area within service lines.

Identifies operating costs and operational capital budget needs in collaboration with providers and team leads. Completes ROI and justification, reviews monthly budgets, and identifies areas of cost savings. Develops effective and efficient clinical operations to include patient flow patterns to maximize provider schedules, referral management process, patient communication, and scheduling to foster a customer focused culture.

Supervises and enforces third-party payer requirements and contract maintenance. Monitors and analyzes business performance; implements systems to track profitability and expand services.

Acts as liaison with medical group clinics to enhance service coordination. Works with medical group leaders to ensure integration into the appropriate service lines with collaborative development of care pathways, decreasing variation, and improving quality of care. Serves as a resource for resolving patient safety incidents, complaints, and satisfaction concerns.

Develops, coordinates, and maintains daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of unit coverage and continuity of care. Supervises and coordinates orientation, training, ongoing coaching, corrective action, recognition, performance evaluation, participation in recruitment, hiring and competency assessment.

Appropriately performs duties of NKC Health Senior Pharmacy Director in the case of his/her absence as assigned. Performs all other duties as assigned.
