Job SummaryThis position is for Dominion Energy South Carolina Jasper Station's Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor. This is a full-time position located near Hardeeville, in Jasper County, SC.
The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor has a broad set of responsibilities which include:
- Direct supervision of craft labor with Mechanical and Operational disciplines.
- Supervision of Mechanical department: fabricating (as applicable), installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical equipment, structures, valves, and piping systems associated with an electric combine cycle power generating station.
- Provide guidance as well as Operating various types of mobile equipment such as cranes, forklifts, man-lifts, back-hoes, tractors, and mowers.
- Active participation in a safety-focused culture is required (to include wearing all required personal protective equipment) you must set the example and be the leader.
- Plays an important part in Environmental Compliance.
- Expected to participate as either a project lead or mechanical/technical liaison in many capital and major maintenance projects.
- Participate in design review meetings, budgeting, and monthly cost tracking.
- Balance the needs to capital improvement craft support with the needs of day-to-day plant operation.
- May also at times supervise subcontractors.
- Works directly with the Maintenance Planner at Jasper Station, which entails daily work scheduling, weekly and outage planning, technical troubleshooting, and participation in routine meetings.
- Review and approve bi-weekly/monthly time for the Mechanical Maintenance Technicians.
- Documentation and performance management are an important part of this position.
- Required to interface regularly with plant E&IC and Operational departments to include their supervisors.
- Ability to communicate professionally and resolve technical issues required to meet the needs of Plant Operations.
- Interfaces at times with other strategic business units such as Power Delivery, Facilities Maintenance, Transmission & Distribution, or Fleet Maintenance.
- This job at times will entail weekend or extended work hours as required to meet plant needs.
Required Knowledge, SKills, Abilities & ExperienceMinimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):- Bachelor's degree in related discipline and 5+ years of relevant experience OR
- Associate degree and 7+ years of relevant experience OR
- High School and 9+ years of relevant experience
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Advanced knowledge of Combine Cycle Power Generation Station Operation, typically gained through considerable related work experience.
- Working knowledge of labor contract and employee relations policies.
- Thorough understanding of company safety policies/programs, and environmental and regulatory policies/requirements.
- Basic knowledge and applications of mathematics, chemistry, physics, and computer operations.
- Basic knowledge of construction techniques.
- Knowledge of Maximo and a basic knowledge of SAP.
- Skills: leadership, problem-solving, negotiating, effective communications.
