The Opportunity:

As a Production Supervisor, you will ensure the timely production of quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations. Proactively manage departmental metrics that impact cost (e.g., downtime, make-readies, run speed and waste). Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, all S.O.Ps, work instructions, and GMPs. Responsible for day-to-day management of department including handing out work assignments, daily planning, managing performance of direct reports, operational decisions, problem-solving, and conflict management.

  • Fosters a team atmosphere, provides vision, and demonstrates support of the company's core processes, leadership, and decisions.
  • Ensures department meets production and quality goals daily.
  • Identifies, documents, and shares departmental metrics for Productivity, Safety, Quality, Waste and any other metrics required by the company.
  • Plans and schedules staffing to meet workload requirements and productivity standards.
  • Manages employee performance by setting goals and consistently holding employees accountable for meeting performance standards.
  • Conducts on-time performance reviews of direct reports and use data to improve productivity.
  • Performs duties of the Production Clerk when needed.
  • Trains or ensures training is conducted in Safety, GMPs, Quality systems rules and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance to all company policies and procedures.
  • Supports Customer Service representatives by providing timely up to date information on production status and issues.
  • Understands the functions and capabilities of various departments and uses those resources effectively.
  • Analyzes root causes and solves problems effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Leads, motivates, and inspires individual workers and teams.
  • Manages effectively through change, transition, and conflict.
  • Owns issues and problems, seeing them through to resolution.
  • Ensures employees are cross-trained and given opportunities to learn new things.
  • Provides needed resources and support (technical, training, motivational).
  • Builds collaborative relationships within the organization.
  • Identifies and resolves potential safety problems; responds to safety audits.
  • Writes S.O.Ps as needed; submits revision requests and creates temporary work instructions.
  • Produces daily production reports as required.
  • Maintains up to date and accurate information in both hard copy and electronic formats.
  • Ensures all documentation/time sheets are legible and accurate.
  • Addresses both internal and external corrective actions.
  • Maintains a clean work environment (5S Basics).
  • Leads effective department meetings.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed:
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (printing experience preferred)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and manage team performance
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to learn production processes and equipment quickly
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive performance improvements
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels
  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of safety standards, GMPs, and operational procedures
  • Must meet and/or pass the minimum requirement on a mechanical test or have demonstrated mechanical aptitude through prior work experience.

The salary range for this position is $74,625.00 - $124,375.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The range listed is also the expected pay for roles in Illinois and Colorado. The benefits for this role include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 15 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.
