Our Space team in East Aurora, NY is eager to welcome a Supply Specialist to their dynamic team! This role will support supplier management, supply chain/procurement strategy and planning/execution support. You will report to the Supply Chain Procurement Manager and enjoy a collaborative working environment on first shift.

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3 years' professional experience in a similar, supply chain/procurement focused role.

  • Experience negotiating with vendors on supply/procurement issues.
  • Knowledge of/experience with FAR/DFAR requirements.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes including PO placement and schedule management.
  • APICS Certification or other relevant industry certifications in Purchasing, Supply Chain or Program Management preferred.
  • Experience leading strategic supply chain initiatives a plus


As our Supply Specialist, you will make critical contributions by holding responsibility for:
  • New supplier evaluation, existing supplier management and resolving sourcing issues. (Use Supplier Business Reviews to establish / monitor these plans.)
  • Supports proposal efforts including supplier selection and negotiations of supplier agreements
  • Works collaboratively with all functions to ensure conforming Source of Supply (this includes quality, design, cost and timing issues.)
  • Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement
  • Drive supplier engagement, RFQs, pricing analysis, and PO placement with precision and urgency
  • Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduction of costs including new or alternate sources


Additional responsibilities relating to strategic procurement activities to include:
  • Maintain part planning parameters in line with the agreed materials plan input as well as the suppliers' latest planning information such as lead time etc.
  • Ability to handle and assess multiple competing priorities
  • Responsible for conversion of demand signals into Purchase Orders (PO) in accordance with contractual terms and conditions and Moog systems and processes
  • Creation of Sole Source Justification and Price Analysis documents in support of Government DFAR regulations
  • Liaise with directly with the Supplier to obtain delivery commitments and provide the site with up-to-date information
  • Coordination and support for supplier non-conformance and return to vendor (RTV)
  • Identify and resolve deviations to contractual terms and conditions
  • Participating in and at times leading, cross-functional problem-solving initiatives to remove supply constraints
  • Responsible for effective communication within and outside of supply chain function, including escalations to leadership

Salary Range Transparency:
Buffalo, NY $80,000.00-$100,000.00 Annually
