The Supply Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing Supply Management across assigned categories and planners, ensuring seamless coordination and optimization. In this role, you will align mid-term to long-term supply plans with near-term manufacturing and working capital requirements, striking the perfect balance between demand, production capacity, and inventory efficiency. Leading a team of supply planners, you will manage master production scheduling, finished goods, work-in-process inventory, excess and obsolete stock, and finished goods replenishment throughout the distribution network.

Your responsibilities will include driving key performance metrics such as customer order fill rate, distress to sales ratio, and Days on Hand/Working Capital. You will provide essential guidance and leadership to your team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Acting as a liaison with business partners, you will ensure smooth coordination on all supply chain-related projects. By leveraging data-driven insights, you will optimize processes, mitigate risks, and enhance operational effectiveness. Effective communication with business and manufacturing partners is crucial, as you will address capacity constraints and ensure production efficiency.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Supply Planning and Inventory Management: You will ensure that master scheduling, product replenishment, and inventory management metrics are consistently met, maintaining operational efficiency and supply chain stability. You will identify action items, marshal resources, and actively follow up on supply planning issues to drive timely resolutions. Additionally, you will oversee and optimize inventory levels at distribution centers and plants by implementing strategic stocking policies, including seasonal builds and coordinated storage strategies, ensuring seamless product availability.
  • Performance and Capacity Optimization: You will manage key business factors to ensure the targeted customer order fill rate of 98.5% is consistently achieved. You will drive initiatives to reduce inventory alert levels and minimize inventory distress sales across assigned product categories, optimizing stock availability. You will lead the enforcement and utilization of capacity planning models, enhancing efficiency and ensuring seamless production flow. Additionally, you will support and provide strategic direction to marketing and sales, advising on capacity availability and limitations for both existing and new business simulations, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Collaboration and Issue Resolution: You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure inventory is effectively managed within constraints and aligned with business strategy. You will proactively identify potential future capacity constraints and bottlenecks, addressing them with the appropriate organizational resources to maintain smooth operations. You will actively engage with demand management, manufacturing, quality, warehousing, and transportation teams to resolve finished goods issues and analyze consumption patterns. Additionally, you will oversee the escalation process, developing and monitoring contingency planning protocols to mitigate risks and ensure operational continuity.

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership is required.
  • Experience and a proven successful track record of handling highly complex networks within supply planning, inventory control, logistics management and/or manufacturing production, required.
  • Experience with Advance Planning Systems (Logility/JDA/APO/etc.) is required.
  • Strong communications skills (oral and written), with a proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate with business stakeholders at multiple levels of management
  • Project management & process improvement mindset/experiences
  • Hands on experience with modeling, analysis & simulation tools
  • Ability to multitask and deal with ambiguity
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Can analyze process needs and balance competing interests; plus determine the resources needed to meet objectives
  • Works well under pressure with limited supervision, and can make immediate value-based decisions
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
