Supply Chain Procurement Specialist (Buyer) at our
Hanover,MD location.
This is an onsite position. We are seeking a highly motivated, self-managed, and detail-loving Supply Chain professional to support our engineer-to-order (ETO) equipment business. This position executes Buyer transactions and manages purchasing activities for equipment production in a project-driven, time-sensitive environment.

Responsibilities:
- Review project material requirements and on-hand inventory, identify purchasing needs, obtain competitive quotations, and issue purchase orders.
- Monitor open purchase orders and supplier commitments. Conduct supplier status meetings and partner with suppliers and production schedulers to ensure deliveries are timely, which may require reprioritizing delivery dates.
- Partner with Receiving and Accounts Payable departments to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain exceptional transactional accuracy by validating part numbers, revisions, specifications, quantities, pricing, lead times, delivery dates, and other purchase-order details. Communicate with suppliers to ensure engineering changes are accurately communicated to suppliers.
- Manage multiple time-sensitive requirements simultaneously, continually reassessing priorities based on customer, project, production, and business-cost impact.
- Partner with suppliers to identify supply risks, and communicate potential project impacts to Production, Materials Management, Engineering, Quality, and other stakeholders.
- Take ownership of purchasing and supplier-related issues from identification through resolution. Partner with other departments to investigate root causes, coordinate corrective actions, and implement sustainable improvements that prevent recurrence.
- Updated and maintain accurate procurement data within the ERP system. Use the data to monitor purchasing performance, identify trends and exceptions, prioritize actions, and make decisions related to supplier performance, cost, quality, delivery, and risk.
- Analyze spending patterns, lead times, and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for operational improvement.
- Partner with Supply Chain Analysts and other cross-functional stakeholders to advance broader supply-chain strategies and initiatives. Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, or eliminate manual and repetitive activities.
- Build scalable processes, document improvements, and share knowledge so that routine work becomes increasingly efficient for the betterment of the business.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, operations, engineering, or related field.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of detailed, time-sensitive work while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines using sound judgment and adaptability when several needs are urgent.
- Demonstrated experience using data to identify issues, support decisions, and make process improvements.
- At least two years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Strong ownership, follow-through, organization, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using Oracle or another ERP system is preferred.
- Experience with root-cause analysis, corrective actions, or continuous-improvement methods is preferred.
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings, bills of material, specifications, or revision-controlled documents is preferred.
- Advanced Excel, reporting, data-visualization, or workflow-automation skills are preferred.

The position is eligible for one of the following: commissions, discretionary incentives, or production incentives according to the terms of those plans.
Salary Range: $53,700 to $116,000
