Join Our Team as a Supply Chain Manager at Epiroc!

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading the purchasing, inventory management, and production planning activities that support our largest manufacturing plant. This role is critical to ensuring the seamless flow of materials, optimizing inventory levels, and supporting production schedules to meet customer demands. The Supply Chain Manager works cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, finance, and supplier partners to drive operational efficiency, cost control, and supply chain resilience. Through strong leadership and strategic execution, this position plays a vital role in the overall success and growth of the plant.

Work Type (Onsite): This role will be onsite at our Ooltewah, TN facility. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of buyers, inventory specialists, and production planners to achieve performance targets and support operational goals.
  • Define supply chain strategies that align with plant objectives and broader company initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration within the supply chain team.
  • Act as a key partner to the plant leadership team in ensuring material availability, production continuity, and customer satisfaction.

Purchasing & Supplier Management
  • Oversee purchasing activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, components, and services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, delivery performance, and cost competitiveness.
  • Support supplier selection, onboarding, and evaluation processes in collaboration with the corporate procurement function (if applicable).
  • Drive initiatives to consolidate suppliers, negotiate favorable terms, and mitigate supply chain risks.

Inventory Management & Production Planning
  • Manage inventory control processes to optimize stock levels, minimize excess and obsolete materials, and ensure accurate system data.
  • Oversee production planning activities to align material supply with production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Monitor inventory health, lead times, and material flow to proactively identify and address issues that could impact operations.
  • Lead S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) or similar planning processes as required to support production and business needs.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline procurement, inventory management, and planning processes.
  • Utilize lean principles, data analytics, and best practices to enhance supply chain performance.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs to measure supply chain efficiency, material availability, supplier performance, and cost savings initiatives.
  • Support systems improvements, including ERP optimization and inventory system accuracy initiatives.

Compliance, Safety & Risk Management
  • Ensure supply chain operations comply with all applicable regulations, company policies, and customer requirements.
  • Champion safe work practices within the supply chain and materials handling processes.
  • Proactively assess and mitigate risks related to supplier performance, logistics, and material availability.


Knowledge/Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or materials management, including 3+ years in a leadership capacity.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably supporting heavy equipment, industrial products, or fabricated goods.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing, production planning, inventory control, and supplier management.
  • Proficient with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor) and data analysis tools.
  • Working knowledge of lean principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and supply chain best practices.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach.


Work Environment

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring regular presence on the production floor in addition to office-based strategic planning. The plant environment involves exposure to moving machinery, production noise, and varying temperature conditions. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in designated areas. Occasional travel may be required to meet with suppliers, attend cross-site meetings, or participate in training.
