Job Summary

We are looking for a talented Supply Chain Manager to join our team at our Jamestown Engine Plant. In this role, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for direct materials planning, escalation management, and product change execution, ensuring seamless coordination across the supply chain. You will play a critical role in balancing material supply with customer demand, aligning with established stocking strategies to support operational continuity and efficiency. By driving strategic alignment between demand and supply, you will help optimize inventory levels and overall plant performance.

This position requires a strong focus on supplier management, including lead time reduction and proactive escalation of supplier-related risks to key stakeholders to maintain stability and minimize disruption. You will also contribute to or lead regional and global supply chain initiatives, bringing a broader organizational perspective to continuous improvement efforts. Additionally, you will actively support New Product Introduction through VPCR and VPI processes, ensuring material supply chain readiness and successful product launches. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by strengthening supply chain resilience, enhancing cross-functional collaboration, and driving operational excellence.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Lead and manage day-to-day supply chain operations across functions to ensure consistent, reliable, and efficient performance aligned with business objectives.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement: Execute and sustain improvement initiatives using the Cummins Operating System and Functional Excellence framework, leveraging standardized tools, processes, and systems.
  • Foster Cross-Functional Alignment: Support Corporate Supply Chain initiatives and lead cross-Business Unit planning efforts to ensure strategic alignment and cohesive execution across the organization.
  • Strengthen Supplier Resilience: Proactively mitigate long-term supplier constraints through collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring continuity and stability in supply.
  • Standardize Processes and Partnerships: Develop and implement consistent supply chain processes and procedures by building strong, collaborative relationships with key business partners.
  • Enable Data-Driven Performance: Establish, track, and continuously improve Key Performance Indicators while analyzing operational trends to identify gaps and implement targeted corrective actions.
  • Ensure Operational Stability: Respond promptly to supply chain disruptions, resolve issues effectively, and escalate risks appropriately to maintain continuity of operations.
  • Lead Planning and People Development: Own the annual operating plan, including budget and capital resources, while coaching and developing team members through goal setting, performance management, and career growth planning.


Responsibilities

To be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • Strategic Communication and Influence: Ability to clearly communicate complex supply chain concepts across multiple audiences, ensuring alignment, understanding, and effective decision-making at all levels of the organization.

  • Supply Chain and Operational Expertise: Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations, including inventory optimization, material planning, and KPI management, with the ability to balance cost, delivery, and service outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement and Process Optimization: Proven ability to evaluate, standardize, and improve processes using data-driven insights, while driving efficiency, scalability, and sustained operational excellence.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
  • College, university, or equivalent degree required.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:
  • Significant level of experience required. 5-7 years of relevant experience preferred.


Qualifications

  • Lead a team responsible for direct materials planning, escalation, and product change
  • Ensure supply of materials is balanced with incoming demand and in line with stocking strategies for JEP
  • Ensure strategic alignment between demand and supply
  • Maintain strong focus on supplier management, lead time reduction, and escalating supplier related issues to relevant stakeholders
  • Work on or lead regional or global projects as necessary
  • Engage in New Product Introduction through VPCR or VPI processes, to ensure Material Supply Chain readiness
  • The expectation is that this role is 100% onsite.
