Summary

Lincoln Electric is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer for our Euclid, OH world headquarters. The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for leading quality for our purchased materials for machine production, inspection processes, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role ensures incoming materials meet established standards, drives root cause analysis and corrective actions, and leverages data-driven methodologies to enhance product quality, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead receiving inspection activities, including assignment of test plans and ensuring purchased materials meet all quality and engineering requirements. Develop new inspection strategies based on risk, complexity, and supplier performance.
  • Evaluate supplier quality using rejection data, field failures, and risk analysis to establish appropriate inspection levels, sampling plans, and acceptance criteria.
  • Manage intercompany rejection processes, including disposition decisions, root cause analysis, and cross-functional review meetings to drive resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), ensuring effective root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and validation of results.
  • Manage skip-lot and acceptance sampling programs for sellable products, ensuring compliance with internal standards and industry best practices.
  • Perform data analysis using statistical methods to support decision-making and ensure representative datasets.
  • Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts across operations; use analytical tools to resolve quality issues.
  • Provide training and guidance on SPC, statistical analysis, and root cause methodologies to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot daily production quality issues and support resolution efforts.
  • Support new product development by contributing to stage-gate processes and ensuring all quality deliverables are met.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process capability studies, measurement system analyses (MSA), and evaluation of engineering changes.


Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Quality Management, or related field.
  • Level II: 3+ Years of relevant experience, Level III: 5+ years of relevant experience
    • Selected candidate's Job Level and Pay Grade will be determined based upon qualifications and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of quality methodologies such as Statistical Quality Control, Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Proficiency in SPC, measurement techniques, and quality assurance tools.
  • Ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate effectively with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Solid computer and data analysis skills. Minitab and Power BI experience desired
