Job Description

Continuous Improvement Engineer

Summary

Continuous Improvement at FGF no longer starts with a human walking the floor looking for waste. It starts with AI - a suite of computer vision, real-time analytics, and predictive tools that watch every line across every facility and every shift, surfacing ranked improvement hypotheses before most problems become visible to the human eye.

As an AI-Enabled CI Engineer, you work in a genuine human-AI partnership. AI handles data collection, pattern recognition, and hypothesis generation at a scale no human team could match. You bring what it can't: the ability to walk the floor, read people, challenge a data signal with lived operational experience, design a clean experiment, and make an improvement stick with the team running the line.

If you've been waiting for a CI role that treats AI as a genuine partner rather than a reporting add-on - this is it.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Identify and prioritize high-impact improvement opportunities using AI-driven analytics (forecasting, anomaly detection, and pattern recognition) combined with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Validate and refine data-driven insights through Gemba walks and direct observation to ensure operational relevance.
  • Own the design and delivery of decision-oriented dashboards and automated insights that translate data into actionable signals for faster decision-making.
  • Lead hypothesis-driven improvement initiatives, integrating root cause analysis with AI-supported insights to deliver measurable gains in productivity, quality, cost, and service levels.
  • Automate repetitive workflows and reporting using AI and low-code/no-code platforms to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Identify and escalate implementation barriers-including process gaps, behavioral resistance, and structural constraints-that are not visible through data alone.
  • Monitor and continuously improve process performance using real-time KPI tracking and feedback loops.
  • Enable digital transformation by embedding AI capabilities into continuous improvement processes and daily management systems.
  • Train and coach teams on CI methodologies and the effective, responsible use of AI tools.
  • Leverage AI copilots to accelerate analysis, documentation, and experiment design, applying critical judgment to validate outputs.
  • Develop and deploy predictive analytics to proactively identify risks, performance gaps, and inefficiencies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement, scale, and sustain data-driven improvements.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations & Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or continuous improvement.
  • Hands-on proficiency with AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot, GPT) to accelerate analysis, pattern recognition, and decision-making.
  • Ability to design and execute experiments, including defining success criteria, control conditions, and validation approaches.
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets, identifying patterns, anomalies, and performance gaps across systems.
  • Demonstrates an agile mindset by adapting quickly, applying iterative problem-solving, and driving data-driven continuous improvement.
  • Strong foundation in Lean Six Sigma methodologies, with the ability to apply them in combination with data-driven and AI-assisted insights.
  • Proven ability to lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational efficiency and performance gains.
  • Proficiency in data interpretation and visualization, with experience in tools such as Power BI or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to prioritize problems based on operational and financial impact.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to integrate data, process knowledge, and technology to drive measurable improvements.
