As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (InfoSec), at the full performance level, you will perform the following duties:
- Supervise, both technically and administratively, a group of specialists in the performance of work that involves ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.
- Define objectives, interpret policies promulgated by authorities senior to the immediate supervisor and determining their effect on program needs, independently plans, designs, and carries out the work to be done, and is a technical authority for a significant organization or equivalent level IT program or function.
- Assure reasonable equity of performance standards and rating techniques developed by subordinates or assuring comparable equity in the assessment by subordinates of the adequacy of contractor capabilities or of contractor completed work.
- Resolve integration issues related to the implementation of new systems with the existing infrastructure.

Basic Qualifications: In order to meet basic qualifications for GS-2210 positions, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the competencies defined below:

Specialized Experience:In addition to demonstrating the basic qualifications listed above, applicants must also demonstrate possession of specialized experience.
You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
- Providing guidance to leadership, operational staff, and customers that enables a secure and available IT infrastructure.
- Reviewing the impact of new systems design policies on the systems design processes.
- Ensuring the integration of IT programs and services for compliance to IT policies and procedures.
- Developing long-range plans for IT security systems that anticipate, identify, evaluate, mitigate, and minimize risks associated with IT vulnerabilities.
